Depending on the industry, an employer may be looking for people with particular training, certifications or prior work experience. Candidates must be able to communicate well and think critically in order to solve problems and innovate on behalf of their company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Pew Research Center, Americans view \u201cbeing able to work with people from many different backgrounds\u201d as one of the most important traits for workers to be successful in today\u2019s economy. An important element of a successful, modern day workplace is to be more inclusive and open-minded.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pewsocialtrends.org\/2016\/10\/06\/the-state-of-american-jobs\/st_2016-10-06_jobs-39\/\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment-large size-large aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/assets.pewresearch.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/09\/ST_2016.10.06_Jobs-39.png\" alt=\"Americans believe knowledge of computers, social dexterity, communications skills and access to training are keys to success for today\u2019s workers\" width=\"420\" height=\"646\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Image: <\/span><\/i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pewsocialtrends.org\/2016\/10\/06\/the-state-of-american-jobs\/st_2016-10-06_jobs-39\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pew Research Center<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being able to work with people from many backgrounds is just one of many components of a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprisestrategies.com\/2017\/11\/20\/ensure-positive-culture-at-your-company\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">positive company culture<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Making sure your company has an environment where employees feel valued means you are more likely to get the best work from employees, which leads to happy consumers and an increased overall success of the company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other portions of a positive workplace culture include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ili-indent\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being able to get work done in the most productive manner.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Feeling as though you are valued and respected.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Giving and receiving open communication.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Working toward a common goal.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Work culture is different for every company.<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your employees are lacking productivity and do not have the opportunity to communicate efficiently, you likely need a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprisestrategies.com\/enterprise-social-networks-solutions\/implementation-support\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">new or improved intranet or collaboration tool(s)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. If employees do not feel valued or respected, individual meetings with employees as well as inclusivity or leadership training may be the solution. Often, employees take on management roles with little or no training on how to lead, and they have room for improvement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But what if you do not know what changes you need to make to uphold or improve your company culture?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprisestrategies.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/workxo-logo.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21677 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/enterprisestrategies.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/workxo-logo.png\" alt=\"workxo\" width=\"206\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a>An assessment like the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.workxo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Workplace Genome<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from WorkXO analyzes your company culture and sets the course for improvement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Companies complete the Workplace Genome assessment for many reasons, but<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/jamienotter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jamie Notter<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Partner at WorkXO Solutions, has noticed that a common thread among those companies are ones involved in a change or transition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMaybe it\u2019s a change in leadership, or a major disruption in the market, or needing to adjust to demographic changes in the workforce, like millennials,\u201d Notter said. \u201cBut when an organization needs to make a big shift, it is crucial to start by understanding where their culture is, or else they risk trying to make changes that end up getting swallowed by the culture later.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So\u2026 does your company culture need help? What can you do to make the needed changes?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having a positive and efficient workplace is increasingly important to employees who have opportunities to work at other companies, and a business is only as effective and successful as the people who work for it. Having a culture of inclusivity and productivity is a major component to ensuring employee engagement and retention, and that need is not going away.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When speaking about his predictions for workplace culture in the future, Notter said, \u201cCulture won\u2019t be that thing you deal with when you have time.
