In the Winter 1999 edition of the California Management Review, Peter Drucker stated, “The most valuable asset of a 21st century organization will be its knowledge workers and its productivity.”

Drucker’s Prediction is Proving to be True.

Demanding economic factors and intensely fierce global competition have firms scrambling to allocate their scarce resources in an attempt to attain or maintain their competitive advantage.

Companies are turning to Enterprise Social Networks (ESNs) to efficiently and effectively discover new and existing knowledge and collaboration opportunities inside their organizations.

These organizational networking platforms, enabled by advances in web technologies, have been credited with delivering a superior ability to realize business productivity gains through effective collaboration. Enterprises are now faced with the challenge of managing this collaboration process to encourage knowledge workers to cooperate and share relevant information throughout the organization. Why not share this invoice template and discover how much easier accounting processes in a business can become.

This challenge has been a focus of Enterprise Strategies since its inception. We are also dedicated to supporting research, both independently and through collaborative efforts with others, to provide organizations with approaches, frameworks and methodologies for using enterprise social networks to solve enterprise communication and collaboration challenges.

We are happy to announce the release our latest free Research Download.

Enterprise Social Networks as an Enabler of Collaboration is the product of a collaborative effort with Yammer’s Steve Crompton. In this work, Steve has pulled from a wide range of literature to provide a detailed understanding of this relatively new industry, estimated to be worth $6.4 billion by 2016. With literature as a backdrop, Steve conducted interviews with industry experts to further refine the definition of collaboration and to develop an updated framework for understanding ESNs as potential enablers of collaboration. Lastly, Steve presents a theoretical model he developed based on qualitative data that illustrates how ESNs facilitate collaboration.

Steve selected Enterprise Strategies as a key contributor and advisor for his research efforts. As a result of this collaborative effort, we are offering this digital download of Steve’s research free to our email subscribers.
