2014: The Year Of Digital Fluency & Social Business Consultants

2014: The Year Of Digital Fluency & Social Business Consultants

Continuing a series highlighting predictions for social business in 2014 from Enterprise Strategies’ Client Advisors.

Social business in 2014 will focus on relationships–as well as expanding digital fluency. Below are my top three predictions for the New Year:

1. Shareable moments

  • Employers and brands will recognize the value of “shareable moments” with their employees and customers alike. These bite-size, meaningful interactions will result in emotional loyalty within the community that company serves.

2. Digital fluency

  • Digital fluency will be a game changer for employees and managers alike. Those who become more fluent in all things digital from an enterprise standpoint will have an easier time building relationships, resolving conflicts, mining information, accessing knowledge, and collaborating with peers. No longer reserved for the social media team, being able to navigate with ease on multiple devices and platforms will become not just a differentiating competency but an expectation. 3. A new profession emerging of the trusted enterprise social business consultant

  • Enterprises know they need to adopt a new way of doing things, but often the vendors are only providing the tools and traditional change management consultants may not be versed in social business and digital workplace realities. I predict 2014 to be the year of the Enterprise Social Business consultant, a trusted advisor who deeply understands BOTH social business AND change management.

What do you think 2014 will bring for social business?
